Underwater Hockey is hockey played with mask, snorkel + fins on the bottom of a swimming pool. Victoria’s UW hockey home pool (Saanich Commonwealth Place) is just about the perfect depth, about 2 m. Players dive down to make a play (while holding their breath), pass the weighted puck to a team-mate then re-surface to get their next breath. It is very vigorous and intense play, wonderful for the aquatic enthusiast i.e. scuba divers, snorkelers, synchronized or non-synchronized swimmers and others. Lots more fun than swimming lengths!
